New sgian in the works....suggestions?
Ladies and Gentlemen of the rabble,
Having been bitten by the DIY bug, I've got another project in the works.
I worked a piece of rosewood into what I think is a respectable sgian handle.

While I wait for the blade to get here, I humbly request suggestions for accents to be added once the blade arrives. I've got both a damascus and stainless blade on the way, so a vote on either one of those would be helpful too.
Thanks!

Can't beat the looks of a damascus blade.

For sure for sure. Any possibility you could post a pic of the handle as she is right now?

I would go with the stainless blade. Dark handle and shiny blade, oooohhhhhh! Maybe using maple for a bolster and spacer, the contrast would be very striking.

I would use the Damascus blade.

(In complete contradiction of Big Mikey - something I'd probably never do in person) I was thinking something solid black, like blackwood or ebony, would look good on the pommel and the spacer. But then I've always liked rosewood and blackwood together...

Looks like you're off to a great start. I agree with ChattanCat, Can't beat the looks of a damascus blade.

While I lean toward the Damascus blade, I would suggest slipping the handle on each blade and seeing which effect you prefer. After all,...you will be the one who is carrying/wearing it.

I would use an oil finish on the rosewood to really bring out the grain, especially if you go with the black accents. Also I would use an arced pommel to finish the curved shape of the handle.
