Drambuie
Anyone else have a taste for Drambuie? I love the stuff and usually have a wee dram once a week . Any good recipes. I occasionally add it to coffee which is very tasty.

No. I tried it again on a cruise in December. While it is okay it's not Scotch (blended or single malt) nor is it Bourbon. I do however enjoy Saint Brendan's. Not too often as I keep a close eye on my empty calorie intake.

I have developed a taste for it mixed with Bowmore. I usually mix 1/2 ounce of Drambuie with 1 ounce of the Bowmore. The heavy peat taste along with the sea salt and lemon grass immediately hits the palate with flavor, and then finishes with the sweetness of the Drambuie. Very good. I've tried this with other single malts, but it's just not the same.

Probably the drink of choice by my wife and I. Try Drambuie and Johnny Black for a great Rusty Nail. If you or your wife bake Christmas cake, brush the cake with Drambuie for a week or two after baking. In a cocktail shaker, place three or four ice cubes, a good dram of Drambuie, four ounces of cream (at least 10% milk fat), about one teaspoon of liquid honey. Give it a good shake and strain into an appropriate vessel, sit back and enjoy.

Being of Skye heritage I used to have a wee bit in a shot glass over a cube of ice before bed...then I got sober and learned booze makes it harder to sleep rather than easier. But say the name Drambuie and I can still taste it 19 years after my last sip.
And, there are three KILLER Drambuie tartans. Check them out on any tartan finder website.
I wanted one bad - I think the Drambuie hunting - a beautiful tartan! Or maybe it was just euphoric recall. Other AA guys will understand this - as beautiful as the tartan is I fear it might somehow lead me back to the booze and a quick death.
So, hope someone without my little "drinkie poo" problem gets a kilt from one of the Drambuie tartans so I can at least see what it looks like made up.

Yes, like the stuff, and haven't had any in a while- last time was when I shared cigars with my oldest son one evening- very pleasureable.

Drambuie, you bet. It's the drink of the Royal Canadian Artillery. Back in the day after a Mess function, we used to send a few bottles "down range".

From a friend in the Perth (Western Australia) Pipe Band, an Indonesian drink called a "su-su", which is sold at the Jakarta Highland games -- simply take Drambuie, ice cold milk and serve it "over the rocks" -- a perfect drink on a summer day!
I also like Drambuie and club soda on the rocks -- very refreshing.

Great recipes . I'm not a big drinker myself but there is nothing like sitting back on the deck with a tumbler of drambuie and a nice cigar on a cool evening LOL. I will look into the Drambuie tartan. I have a ton of scotweb points and I'm considering buying another kilt in Cochrane Ancient but the Drambuie might spark some interest
