    My Kilt Finally Fits!

Today I finally got around to adjusting the buckles on my kilt for my toothpick waist, and for the first time, it fits perfectly!! I had no idea what I was missing out on! Finally, I can wear it without a belt, and without pooching. And not only is it more comfortable, it also hangs better now! I can't believe I waited for so long to do this.

Thanks to all the people in my thread in the kilt advice forum. Because of you all, I knew how to do this right. Thanks!

(btw, I'll be sending pics soon.)

    Congratulations.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Ah, pics. I think I may have been wearing it a bit high, but I was just sitting down, and the kilt doesn't fall down anymore!!!

By the way, that is a black watch tartan, but it's so dark, you can't tell!

That looks good - very good indeed.

Some might think it just a tiny bit too high as it is a bit above the top of the knee - some might even think I'm a wicked old biddy for thinking that there isn't enough knee showing in most of the photos on this forum, but hey what do I care?

Not - of course - that I joined this forum to look at men's knees, oh no. There are the pleat shots as well.

That looks like a military or military reproduction kilt (such as What Price Glory) in which case the rise appears to be proper. Military kilts were generally worn right up near the ribs.

    Looks great.

I've got a few kilts I need to reduce in size as well.

Thanks for giving me the encouragement to go ahead and do so.
