Oh NO!!! Billy Mays is Dead
After the loss of "Moon Walk" Michael Jackson, now the world has to come to grips with the sudden death of Pitchman Par Excellence Billy Mays. Sometimes life is just too sad.
I think I'll go do my laundry to try and get over it.

As a loud, obnoxious pitch man I did like Billy Mays. A minor celebrity in his own right and much classier than Vince the Sham-Wow guy.

Read he was on the plane that had its nose gear collapse on landing and got hit on the head from stuff falling out of the over head bins.

I always though Billy Mays could push anything - rubber chickens to vegetarians, perhaps?

Oh dear... MacMillan of Rathdown really is in mourning over this; he's doing his own laundry...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I hadn't heard this news. Lets hope he had everything in order with his life!

Yeah, probably sell St. Peter a few bottles of Oxyclean on the way in, and probably head to the other place to sell stuff there too.

I meant no disrespect to Billy Mays and his family by posting that. Just for the record, it was a comment on the OP.

Fifty is too early an age to pass on, no matter if you're world-renown, famous, or merely one of the common folk tying to make the world a better place by your example. My condolences to his family.
While I found his commercials a reason to jump for the mute button, I admitted his instantly recognizable style and its ability to attract attention, which is one of the first things advertising must do. He was extremely successful at it. Some have attempted to imitate it, but with far less (or no) success.
He was hired for his style and he never failed to deliver.

My condolences to his family. It strikes me as odd though all these jokes about someone who has recently passed away, perhaps it's a coping mechanism. I find it sad that people feel the need to try to make fun of someone who was honestly successful in his chosen profession. It certainly shows more about the person making the comment than the intended target.
