Images limit per post...
hey folks
just wondering if there is any/or has been discussion about raising the number of images per post from 6 to a higher number? 8-10 would be a fair amount per post i think ,
Ive noticed members having to make more posts to cover the amount of imagery taken and also since the photos are linked to other sites e.g photo bucket, image shack and so on i cant imagine it taking up to much server space
with members increasing there own collections of kilts and kilt accessories i just thought perhaps it would be good idea to enable members to show there much loved photos
apologies if this topic has come up before

I think you can currently show up to ten items per post, so if you don't add any smilies all ten of these can be pics.

i agree, but the image size needs to taken in to consideration, scrolling past 8 or 10 pictures, all in a large size can be overwhelming

do you know i had no idea that the smilies affected your total amount of images per post , i guess with all the messenger type chats Ive used over the years smilies just seem to go into posts without realizing half the time

yeah i agree , im going to aim for 800 by 600 sized images when i post pics from now on and with most image based sites linking the actual image Ive started just adding thumbnails to posts now and then folks if they to want to see a bigger image they can go to the source of it

I always photograph at the highest resolution so if I need to adjust the light levels or any other manipulation afterwards, I've got the pixels to do it.
I do any cropping first and then upload to photobucket. Photobucket automatically re-sizes the pics for a forum format. I don't have to think about it, it is done automatically. All the links are there.
I only use thumbnails when I have a sequence of near-same pictures to show (could be very boring, seeing the same picture with only a slight change).
I must admit that the 10 photo limit is a pain. Especially, when one is doing a photo-log and you want all the pictures together.
Regards
Chas

Simple solution: Post all your pictures to a separate Photobucket album on your Photobucket site. Then link from your post in the Forum Show us your Pictures to the Photobucket album.

I have not been around in awhile, this is new to me, but I am sure bandwidth has got a lot to do with it. This IS, after all, a fairly large site. And it's free fou you & me. So I don't gripe a lot
