    That's because they're almost certainly Sikhs; that's the traditional way to wear the dastar (Sikh turban).

    They're actually pretty darn good. They seem a lot like one of the old Royal regiment pipe bands from the Punjab that often performs in Scotland.

    There was a kilted contingent of bagpipers in this year's annual Sikh Day parade this year. They are led by an Afro-Scottish-American leader. If I can find the youtube of that, would that go in the celtic music section?

    Last year, I happened to stumble on this event on my way to a kilt meet. The people loved my kilt, especially the older ones. I guess it reminded them of their youth, when a united India was under British rule, and kilts were common.
