Kilted or not to a concert tonight?
Tonight I have got a ticket for an organ concert in the still rather new Copenhagen Concert House, opened January 2009 and designed by the world famous French Architect Jean Nouvel.
The concert hall has the biggest organ in Denmark and has 1800 - no doubt sold out -seats. My wife is attending a business conference so she is not able to join me, which is rather bad, of course.
On the other hand it gives me an opportunity to go to the concert kilted. That has been my intention for some days, but now I feel I'm about to chicken out, I'm afraid.
1800 people having an opportunity to see a Dane in a kilt? If I do it, I might be the first one ever in that concert hall in a kilt. Too odd? The organ has been redesigned to give a better sound. So tonight is kind of a debut. Television could be there.
Well, I still have 6 hours to make up my mind. Some advice might be helpful...

I'd go for it but I appreciate that I am past the stage when I get qualms about appearing kilted in public under just about any circumstance.

When you sit down and listen to the organ pealing, no one will be thinking about what you have on.
Give us a report, OK?

Rex.

Life is too short to worry about something that just might turn out to be a non issue.. I say dress for the occassion, and enjoy yourself..

Go kilted. Life is too short for regrets. We all have boxes full of "If only I'd done..." It will be a positive experience and you will enjoy it.

I would not hestitate, any excuse. I've attended many events kilted, just last week we attended "Macbeth" at the Stratford Festival and earlier in the summer a performance of a new and up and coming celtic band, of which I was the only one kilted............I just assumed everyone else felt uncomfortable.
Cheers,
Ken

You're seriously asking THIS bunch and expecting any other opinion than KILT UP?
Do it!
All the cool kids will be doing it.
Organ music always sounds best whilst kilted.
A good concert hall is never properly broken in until tartan has been worn in it.
The bible says to kilt up when enjoying organ music. It does. On page 33,284.
With all those bodies around, it's bound to be very hot. you don't want to get all sweaty in those trousers, do you?
Lastly, it's Tuesday. Tuesday is kilt day.

Go for it, GG. Like earlier remarks, it dangerous and ultimately very disappointing for each us to add to our list of "woulda's, coulda's and shoulda's".
