    Fala Day

This event is out of the way for most of us (I'm about 2 hours away from it).
It's held at the Little White House in Warm Springs, GA where FDR died.

Fala was FDR's Scottie. He wasn't the best looking Scottie in the world.

His snout was a little short and he seemed to always have his working coat on instead of the classic Scottie grooming.

This is one of the big events for the Atlanta Scottish Terrier Club. I'm not a member of this, but they invite all Scotties and we're planning on showing up with our wild one. Fergus is a Wheaton colored Scottie which most people have never heard of. We'll take lots of pictures, of course.

The weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday for Fala Day. I told a visiting piper from California who had missed the Stone Mountain Games that this was the kind of weather we were used to for those games instead of what we had.

This was my third Fala Day. I went two other times with my other Wheaton who passed on a few years ago. I heard there were over 100 Scotties this year which must be a record. After a brief introduction, we have the parade back to the Little White House.

And then a group photo. I don't think we were all able to fit in the group picture this year.

I correctly identified this tartan as City Of Glasgow, my district tartan. The young lady who's wearing it has almost the same last name as myself. She was part of a Country dancing demo.

One tired boy on the way home. We were beat, too!

I put some pictures up on Flickr for the first time. I'm not quite sure if I know how to share them with you if this link doesn't work, but I'll figure it out eventually!

    Those Scotties are adorable.

I've never seen the wheaton colored ones before (that I can recall - and I've been to a dog show or two in my time), but I very much like their look.

    Regards,
    Rex.
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.
