Buzz Kidder Kilts.
Greetings all!
Over the years, I have read much about Buzz Kidders Sporrans. I have really liked the quality of the product I have seen as well. What I have not seen is experience with his Kilts.
Browsing his page this afternoon, I notice a new tartan (black watch) kilt in "rayon." Decent price. It seemed a bit light if the weight is reported accurately.
Anyone here worn his kilts? I certainly like the accessories. Just looking for reviews. Thanks.
On to the Quotes and link.

Actually, that has been one of their products for several years. There are some old, old threads on it, but to sum up, the materiel is a bit on the lightweight side, and I think the straps are skinney.
I'm not sure about the construction; I only have one of the canvas kilts.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Personally, I'd got for a Stillwater instead.
I saw some Buzzkidder Kilts for sale at a games a while ago and they were not worth the price, in my opinion.

The material and stitching etc is very sturdy on the canvas. It has a hefty, four inch wide waistband/stabilizer on the inside that would probably hold an elephant.
It wrinkles like an elephant.
It has to be ironed one pleat at a time, not pressed.
The front and back of each pleat is fully stitched along the edge from top to bottom.
The fell is about four inches long, so kind of short.
The front apron has no hair canvas or that kind of interfacing in it, so it wrinkels up when you sit, then stays wrinkled when you stand back up; you have to smooth the apron over when you stand right along with the pleats etc.
The righthand edge of the front apron is not tapered, it's strait up and down.
The reverse pleat at the edge of the underapron seems to want to be in a different place and the edges of the pleats are spread apart at the bottom of the kilt on those two pleats.
It will hold up, but it has design issues.
It's good for gardening and that kind of thing.
I guess it's about what you can live with, and what you can spend.
There are, of course, other canvas kilts...

My Buzz canvas is like a set of BDU's; tough, well built and a B**ch to make look like it's not what it is, canvas. Lets face it canvas is, well canvas. it wrinkles, it hold a crease and to make it all smooth and pretty it needs an iron. But it's a work kilt, meaning gardening and stuff like that, so why do you want it pretty?

You could have the elephant iron it for you.

I've seen a lot of the the BK Black Watch kilts at our local Games and I think they look pretty good, honestly.
They're almost certainly made "overseas", probably in Indonesia or Pakistan. So now I'm going to go out on a limb and infuriate the entire forum and say my honest truth.
I'd rather have a Gold Brothers 8-yarder, for about the same price.
