A lovely surprise in the mail today
I was a little surprised when my husband told me I had a package -- or at least a large envelope from the UK. I had no clue who it could have been from or what it was....
Imagine my surprise when I opened it to find a calendar with beautiful photos from Scotland in it -- and a letter! It was from our Jock Scot! I was very touched that he would send me something, and Christopher and I appreciated it very much!
I've met a lot of wonderful people here -- many I now consider friends, and I'm so very glad to have met them, even if many of them have only been online (I've been fortunate enough to meet some of you in person ). It's just a nice reminder of the fun chats I've had here, and those friendships -- especially Jock's and how thankful we all are that he pulled through. Perhaps someday we'll make it that way to visit Jock Scot and say "hi" in person!
Best wishes, and thanks again JS!

What a nice thing to do. Good on ya', Jock.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

The timing was wonderful, too. I was having a very stressful few days and it was a nice surprise to get my mind off things for a little while.

You know Cynthia... you deserve to be smiling each and every day... Kudos Jock for making this Little Angel's day..

I've been doing a lot better the past year or so (getting better over time). In fact, I was handling the stress pretty well last week (the old anxiety and depression suffering me a few years ago would have been quite a mess -- not that it took much to set me off). Except for a few moments, the only real way I knew stresses were getting to me that much was a nightmare that freaked me out that morning, but I even shook that off fairly quickly.
Christopher was laid off a few days before Christmas. While he has a severance package, it won't last forever and he has a pituitary tumor and medicines to buy. Fortunately, things have been working out for us so stresses can be pushed aside and we can smile more. I only hope he can get something well before the severance runs out.
One thing I have been enjoying is my husband's company. Definitely all smiles over that
Thanks for the replies!

I have been laid off, too... so I am taking this time to enjoy my Mom and sisters in Arkansas.. Hopefully I will be back to work soon enough.. I have faith..
You and Christopher will be ok.. you have a good heart, and are selfless.. God has a way of taking care of those like that... keep smiling.. you are very much appreciated...

Sorry to hear about your recent misfortunes. I hope things turn around for you both quite soon. I'm sure what you received from Jock may just be the start of a turnaround. What a thoughtful expression it was to send it to you. Well done Jock!
