    Dumfries Pub Crawl - Multinational

Robertson and Emma from Ferintosh in Dumfries organised two Burns Suppers last year. They were so popular that they thought that they would do the same this year. The weekend starts with a kilted pub crawl in and around Dumfries on the Friday evening; preparations and Burns Supper on the Saturday; visit to a local place of interest on the Sunday.

This thread is about the Friday event - I'll cover the other two in other threads.

I arrived about noon in Dumfries and booked in. I met Dee (starbkjrus) almost immediately. He was first to arrive, I was second. Within a short time English Bloke (John) and his wife (Çağman), DoublewoodDave and John's Austrailian mate Shane, Paul and girlfriend Laura had joined us. Staying locally but not at Ferintosh was Niblox.

    First picture:
Everybody ready to set off. The couple on the left are from Northern England - came last year, liked it and came again.

Northern couple; Dee; Robertson; Çağman; John; Me; Paul and Aussie Shane

We always start with a meal in the Cavans Arms. Here is Laura contemplating the night of fun and frivolity before us.

Not sure what is going on here, but it looks as if Robertson is being helped to do something with the chips.

This one I really don't understand - Dee, doesn't look very happy and Emma's not to pleased either.

Moving on to another establishment. Here the Tam O'Shanter.

To the left of John is DoublewoodDave and on the far right next to me is Niblox.

At the next pub was a Karaoke. Here is Paul and Robertson waiting for an intro to finish.

And here they are debating who is going to take the lead in the next song.

The song here is 'Flower of Scotland'. John is singing like Pavaroti and brought the whole pub to a standstill.

The last one. Here we are in the Globe (Burns' local pub) waiting for a tour of his bedroom and a secret meeting room.

Everybody had at least one camera, so there should be far more pictures added on.

Oh, yes. International - Scotland, USA, England (North and South), Turkey and Australia and Ireland (thanks John).

    Regards

    Chas

Jordan - it happened so quickly. We were all stunned. By the time we all woke up, John had gone for a cigarette.

    Regards

T'was a grand night indeed Chas. In fact it was a grand weekend all round. I'll stick my pics up in a couple of weeks when I am able (I.T. wise, you know the score).

Don't forget Naill (Niblox) is from Ireland. Just to add to the mix of Nationalities.

Some may argue that I don't sound anything like Pavarotti, I just look like him...

It should be noted that the Gentlemen in Orange Hoodies were still the talk of the town everywhere WE went.

John singing [IFlower of Scotland][/I] - that would have been something to hear!

Last March he just stood there and watched the rest of us!
