    Leather for targes

    Hello all,

I was browsing through some of my favorite reenactor supply websites and I found a couple of things that should be of use to those of you who are in a targe making mood.

    Goat rawhide drum heads.

Pig leather hides, sold in 15 square foot increments for a minimum of $44.85. Five different colors.

Wow!! Thank you! It sounds like that leather would be good for sheath making, as well! It doesn't say weather or not it's vegetable tanned or not, though. If it's chromium tanned, it can't be carved or molded. Price is certainly right, though!
