    Question Making a Leather kilt

Hi all. I am seriously considering making a contemporary leather kilt. I would appreciate any insight from the forum's experienced folks, like, what leather to get, thickness, how much is needed (sq ft), what's the best lining material, interfacing, recommendations, etc.

Or if there are already links to such discussions, that'd be great!

    Thanks in advance!

Looking at the "Similar Threads" suggestions at the bottom, I'm finding these earlier discussions about leather kilts. If you something to share, feel free to do so. Thanks.

I don't know anything about leather kilts, sorry. It's good to see you on the forum though, meinfs. Hope all is well.

Well, good luck - a noble goal.

Best thought I have is to go to RKilts and check out what's on Robert's website. Think he has some "how its made" pics or videos on his website or facebook or something like that. Believe they're informational rather than instructional - but they might help.

I'm happy to pay the craftsman to do the work for me....

I seem to remember something about leather kilts from when I was in Greece, maybe even military. It would probably be different from the Scottish Kilt, but there may be some good information you could use.
