Funny Gifts you have received...
My Mom sent me an InstaKilt for Christmas. This is not at all unusual for my family as we have always given a joke gift on Christmas (as well as other things). So please post any funny or strange gifts that you have received, whether it was recent or from years past that made you laugh when you opened it. As for myself, I'm going to make sure that my Mom gets a picture of me wearing it proudly in some public area so she can have a laugh about it as well, along with the "Behold, Fartacus!" tee shirt. Cheers!
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

A few years back I had mentioned how much I like "A Christmas Story". Under the tree....
A Red Rider BB rifle AND a "major award" leg lamp!!

I got a pair of red and green boxers with jingle bells hanging off the legs. I wish I could have gotten a "major award leg lamp".

We got a hand-carved Mr. Peanut from a colleague for Christmas a few years ago. She said that she thought it would look great in our house, which she has never seen inside.
She was right. It looks great and has a place of prominence in the den.

I got the Instakilt last year. I plan on that being my "travel" towel (although I use it often at home too) simply to wear it at pools and beaches.
I do not have a "Major Award" yet, but I will get one. I have a smaller version hanging on the tree in the front window.
This year, although nothing Scottish related the only funny bit was that my wife and I got each other the same DVD set. Even funnier was that we opened them nearly simultaneously.

since Meri was making me a kilt...She figured it being winter, a couple pairs of Tabasco flannelboxers would warm things up...

No one has ever given me a "Red Rider BB rifle," nor a "'major award' leg lamp."
However, slightly related to "A Christmas Story," a few years back someone did give me a pair of brown (not pink) bunny slippers that basically look like rabbits with a full head, and little feet and tails. It was kind of a half-joke about the bunny pajamas in "A Christmas Story."
In the winter I wear them around the house in the morning, and yes, I usually eat a couple of carrots for breakfast while wearing the bunny slippers.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I got Doctor Who action figures (11th doctor crash pack).
My best friend knitted me a stuffed squid for my B-Day, so that was the strangest gift I had gotten this year.

My brother and I give each other gag gifts of some manner every year. This year, I got a Walker's Shortbread tin that looked like a bagpiper. I gave him a pair of Handerpants.

Every year my mother, a native Nebraskan and huge Husker fan tells me, a Washington-born Husker Hater, that if I don't give her a Christmas list I'm getting a Husker jersey.
I emailed a list to her last year...but I didn't know her computer was busted. So on Christmas I opened a box to find a bright red Nebraska jersey. Then in July she got it back for her birthday!
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.
