Someone here on XMarks is affiliated with this group I believe. I think they do a lot of fund raising IIRC.
Found it:

The Stormtrooper, kind, that is.
Just wondering how many 501st members are on X-marks?
For those who I have completely confused, the 501st Legion is a group of individuals who have Screen quality Star Wars costumes. Our primary purpose is 1) to raise money for children’s charities, and 2) to have fun. To learn more, visit www.501st.com.
There is a subgroup of the 501st known as the Kilted Trooper Brigade. The purpose of the KTB is to promote the wearing of Kilts, both in and out of armor. I know that a number of UK’s were sold to existing or future members of the group.
I had actually found this site before I joined the KTB, but the KTB does provide the link to Xmarks on their group page.
Just one other example of how kilt wearing is gathering steam.
Message Completed.

I am just trying to work out where they would fit in the 1 Kilt = 10 Looks scale.

I think it falls under the lesser used 11th level of the scale. Battle level. ;)
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Well, the kilt isa military garment, so I would think it fits into the service uniform level of formality.

I found my avatar pic on the interwebs some time ago. I thought it was very funny but had no reason to use it prior to joining this site.
The timing is great because I just updated my avatar the other day.
