    Mighty Men II

    Here it is: the Mighty Men tartan as registered by the Scottish Register of Tartans:

    Here again is the description:
    This Tartan has been designed in honour of Mighty Men who stand united in Christ. Mighty Men is a movement that was started by Mr Angus Buchan from Shalom Ministries in South Africa, and which is now spreading around the world. This tartan has the approval of Shalom Ministries.

    This message received today from James McGowan (Piperjames):

    “Quick update re the Tartan. It is beautiful! Six (6x) metres arrived yesterday as stated, in Cape Town. This sample will be made into various items for press release purposes', showing what can be done with it. Further to this though and due to the mill closing over the holiday period the Tartan will only be available to the general public around early February 2011. Orders will be taken though as it is expected that the Tartan will be popular. Watch this space for further updates. Thanks from Piperjames”

    Latest news on Mighty Men tartan is that the first full run has been completed by the mill, and the material for kilts for me and for Piperjames is in the hands of the kiltmaker.

    Heard tonight from Ina Murison-McGowan (Piperjames’s wife) that my kilt is being posted tomorrow.
    She is lending me a sporran until my rooikat sporran is made.
    The first two kilts were made for James and me, but since I was first on the list, James will not be wearing his until I have mine. So even though he has his kilt, he is still jonesing!
    Evangelist Angus Buchan is getting the third Mighty Men kilt.
    The formal launch will be at a Mighty Men conference at Paarl in the Western Cape from 18 to 20 March.
    Now the jones is serious!
