Virginia Celtic Gathering & Highland Games
A new name for the Williamsburg Scottish Festival and the third year at Rockahock Campgrounds in Lanexa. Friday evening, I attended the President’s Reception. Pictured below is (L) Howard Topp, past President and currently acting President and (R) is XMarker James MacCarson. It was a fun evening.

The next day turned out to be a windy cool autumn day. My sister Denise came to join me for the festivities.

Melissa convener of the Morrison tent belongs with me to the Fredericksburg Scottish Society.

The House of Gordon was the Honored Clan.

The flags of the 7 Celtic nations

There was Scottish Country Dancing

SAMS was the Honor Guard for the Parade of Clans and three of them here are XMarkers (L) Sir William (C) Tommy Beard (R) David H(ufton)

It was great to meet Fragor; Frank Gordon and his wife, Diane. James MacCarson join us for this group photo.

A little later, Sir William arrived and we had an impromptu whisky tasting; Speyburn, Edradour, Spring Bank, & Ardbeg

Our Xmarkers Meet Up doing our best Hamish!

Afterwards, I went for a walkabout. Found our friends of the Scottish Tartans Museum hard a work and always willing to give a smile.

The Gathering had great entertainment; Seven Nations and Rathkeltair that I was able to kick back and enjoy in the evening. But the best was hearing that the Festival Raffle ticket #3309 won the trip for two to either Scotland or Ireland. Yep, I held the ticket!
