    The NEW lasses wear thread

...just because so many links are dead, dead, dead in the old one, stickied up above.

Just because it's winter and I happen to drool over lasses in tartan and boots, I'm gonna start with that.

BTW, can we mention sexy? Yeah, I suppose that the miniskirt is sexy. But IMHO, now this is just me, you know what KILLS me? This...

    --knit turtleneck blouse, earth tone.
--plaid or tartan skirt, knee length, cut on the bias, earth tones
    --knee high boots
    --wide leather belt
    --minimal bling, moderate makeup
--hair up with a chopstick, or other wooden pin holding it in place. Of course, the implication is that the right man, at the right time, can pull OUT this wooden pin, sending the hair down in cascades...etc. etc.

    Drop-Dead sexy.

Onwards, then...starting with boots and tartan.

    Buttons down the front.

While the poor woman is currently grossly over-hyped, IMHO, I have to admit that Kate IS drop-dead classy-gorgeous.

On the subject of bad-girl ...

Patterned hose, tartan skirt.... looks pretty good to me.

    HI. What's your phone number?

My goodness but she looks *Great*.

Now, some of you are probably saying..."that's fine for those young things with the legs for it, but how about me? I'm not wearing one of those little.....*things*!"

    No problem.

Normal human being looking great in belted sweater and long skirt.

Jeans jacket and tartan skirt on a real woman, not a model? Works for me. (OK, this skirt isn't exactly tartan)

Classy. Black top, tartan knee-length skirt.

I bet this is an old photograph....70's maybe? And it's not tartan, it's tweed. But still.....classic.

Like long? I'm good to go with long.

I said LONG!!! OK, ma'am... as you wish!

Our favorite girl kills it again. I never even thought about a handkerchief tartan skirt.

Looks to me like one simple recipe.....and you can not lose. Black top, black belt, tartan skirt, black tights, black shoes or boots. One little bit 'o bling. You'll KILL 'em.

I seem to notice that tartan boots are "out" this year.... at least, according to one website.

OK, you BAD. BAD gurl... lose the tights?

Or not. Hey, if Kate can do it, so can Pippa.

OK, I'm not wild about the furry jacket, but hey. The shoes are alright, they're kind of boots.

What the heck, turn the whole flippin' thing upside-down. OK, OK, she's got on liddle shoes, not boots and there's a run in her stockings. If she'd wanted to, she'd have fired up Photoshop and the run would be gone. I think the run is optional.

    OK, your turn!

Monochrome and black boots....not just RED RED RED, she said. There is life beyond Royal Stewart.

LOUSY picture. Is it gonna snow, today?

NOT red. Real woman (not model or Royal wife/girlfriend/mistress or weathergirl) looks good.

Once again the tartan does NOT have to be below the waist, right? Boots, jeans tucked in...and this

    Like THIS, doh.

though I think she's got leggins on, instead of jeans.

I think we should change the thread title to "The Place Where Dirty Old Men Congregate".

    Just kidding, of course.

    But seriously.

Re: The NEW lasses wear thread

So, you hate tartan but your stupid significant other loves the stuff, and to shut them up, you are obliged to own and occasionally wear some damn piece of clothing with the stupid clan print on it. How to accomplish this with a minimum number of dollars spent, and preferably have it somewhere where you don't have to look at it, except in the bathroom mirror?

    scarf

the ultimate "OK, fine...dear. I'll wear your stupid TARTAN!!!"

    The tartan scrunchie.

You don't even have to look at it, and it shuts him up.

Almost as invisible to you, but not every adult woman will want to try this...

Kinky....but you don't have to look at it. WAY kinky. You gotta be the right kinda lassie to wear this one.

That could be quite a bit "un-kinked" by removing the stainless steel, I'm thinking.

Significantly less kinky. In fact, downright wholesome.

I just put this one in because I'm hot for the model, whoever she is.

How about the dirty young men?

Actually I do this because I think the lasses get short shrift around here, and besides, it's kinda fun when it's slow at work.
