Noob from tampa, florida, moving to Houston, Texas on Tuesday, 10 April.
Howdy folks! My name is Josiah. Im a recent drop-out of the USAF. I left after 14 years for health reasons. I was a bomb loader for 6 years, then crossed over and became an aerial gunner on SpecOps helos. I retired those helos and was farmed out to the rescue community, from where I retired. I am 32, and am starting the next chapter in life with an oil company in Houston. I own a healthy gourmet coffee business as well, so, those of you who quit drinking coffee because it was bad for you, you can have this one;) Anywho, 'nuff 'bout that.
I hope to meet up for a pint or three pretty soon after arrival to Houston.
God bless,
Josiah (Josey)

Welcome from another ex-USAF person (actually, I didn't get far -- got out after just 10 years, still working as a civil servant for Dept of AF at Wright-Patt AFB).

Good luck on the move to TX. Hopefully, none of the "typical" PCS horror stories of stuff disappearing or ending up elsewhere.

Welcome to XMTS, Josiah1122! I was wondering if you'd find the forum... And welcome to Houston! Today being Tartan Day, there's a get together this evening at the Bear & Bull. Here's the information I was emailed by the Houston Highland Games Association:
Several of us will be meeting at 6 pm on Friday at the Bull and Bear Tavern and Eatery for a Kilt night out. The Bull and Bear is located on Westheimer at Kirkwood next to the Specs Liquor Warehouse. B&B has a full menu if you would like to have dinner or just drop by for a pint. You can find details on this Facebook event page and let us know if you're coming.
I won't be able to make it, as we're leaving town this evening, but if you're looking for a kilt-friendly gathering, this would be one.
Cheers,
SM
