If that's all you wrote, it works.

I see where Riverkilt had a similiar problem a few months ago. In order to post anything longer than the first post I have to copy and paste from notepad, otherwise I get a message saying xmarksthescot is not responding and the post is subsequently lost in the recovery process. I am still able to post in other forums. It seems a can start a thread but not reply. I run into the same problem while trying to PM.

I'm guessing the system is expiring your login session while you are busy drafting a very long message. When you try to submit the message, your browser thinks you are still logged on, which disagrees with the server's idea that you are not. Posting a long message via copy/paste from notepad works, because the message (regardless of length) is entered faster than the session timeout.

The system is currently set up with the following limits.

Session timeout is 3600 sec or 1 hour.

Posts must contain at least 5 characters but no more than 40,000.

Maximum thread title limit is 85 characters.

Maximum no. of images per post is 10.

There is a minimum time limit of 120 seconds between posts.

Posts will be auto-saved every 60 sec. as you type.

I'm guessing an auto-save does not refresh the session timeout clock. Correct?

No these are relatively short posts. Even a few sentences is too much.
Those two sentences were not accepted. I got the same 'not responding' message.
