    interesting patterned kilt on Ebay

According to the description, any man "would be proud to ware it"

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Awesome-Cust...item27cbcb8f8c

Anyhow the fabric is interesting. He says it cost $1800.

Is this one of the kilts made for that Edinburgh hotel? Or of American Southwest Native American cloth?

Hey, there's also a guy selling Seven Sterling Silver Sgian Dubhs... works out to under $500 each, eh?

I'm assuming that $1800 also includes the original cost of the sofa that the fabric was cut from. In these pictures it looks
exactly like a chenille-finished olefin upholstery fabric.

It's a "fashion kilt" that was made of material woven by Calzeat of Scotland (weavers who make throws, shawls, scarves, etc) that was done for the Dressed to Kilt show several years back. They weave different patterns... some that look like navajo designs, some knot work designs, etc. Here are some on the stage at DTK:

I believe the guy selling the kilt on Ebay DID have the kilt made for himself (though there are literally only a VERY FEW of them in existence as Calzeat will not sell the cloth by itself unless you're a good friend or a customer of theirs), but it's a small group who may want such a kilt.

I stand corrected. Thanks for the pix Rocky.

That said, I wouldn't wear it- still looks like a sofa to me.

I actually own a KNOT WORK patterned one (has 8" X 8" sized knotwork patterns in blocks) which I made for myself as I bought the fabric direct from the mills' sales rep. It's different and not everyone's cup of tea, but I knew that going in.

EDIT: Here's a pic of the cloth MY kilt is made from (still have a kilt length of the cloth left):

The only person who I could see wearing the kilts above in the navajo design is Ron (Riverkilt). I'm surprised he's not "all over it".
