The Nor Cal Rabbles first ever Kilt Stitch 'N Bitch

Despite the event's name there was little bitching to be heard at all.

Jessica came up with the name, I found a place, and Alan not only came up with the idea and organized the day he also was there to guide all the new kilt makers as they started their first projects

Here are a few photos from the day

It was with great pleasure that we were able to officially welcome some new members to the Nor Cal Rabble and the event was quite a success. A number of different kilts were worked on from X Kilts to full on traditional hand sewn kilts. There was leather work as Ray and Bob crafted new sporrans and the knitters were well represented by Chris who was working on a nice pair of kilt hose.
There was laughter, a lot of work, and more than a couple of tasty and refreshing beverages enjoyed.

All in all a grand day!

    Cheers

    Jamie

Looks like a great event Jamie, with lots of familiar faces. I like the fact that there were people doing a variety of kilt related projects, must have been good fun!

    See you soon!

Andrews sewing machine gives our panel of experts the fits. ( had had to give up on it...)

Do you think Andrew will wear this kilt to any pipe band gigs?

Bob made these cool laser-etched buttons and kilt pins....his supply is in the llittle box he's got, and Panache has a handful of blue saltire buttons.

    Chris knits up a storm..

and this is what Chris is producing.....Ray....errr "bunchdescendent" is a lucky fellow.

Here's my project....a midi-length kilt skirt for "Mrs. Farlander" aka Elise. I'm trading a kilt skirt for a killah pair of sox!

We were protected by a pack of vicious, killer guard dogs, because, you know the Montevalle retirement community is a dangerous place....

    MacFhearchair and husband....and puppy.

Judith lays out Brittunculus's soon-to-be-stitched X-Kilt. Those are Brittunculus's legs and kilt over on the left. I don't know the tartan, but it was a *Nice* kilt.

While all of us hack away at it, quietly over in the corner, way2fractious (Richard) is stitching up pleats in his surely-to-be-gorgeous Isle of Skye kilt.

Roger1976 measures twice and cuts six times, right?

The leatherwork crowd...note the skunk sporran coming together, there on the table.

The F-H-C.A.G. lays out a mile of X Marks the Scot tartan polyester viscose on the Visqueen.

Cut and trim, cut and trim. I got in the spirit of this picture by cutting off way2fractious's head.
