    TAOK on Amazon

    WOW, Barbara!!

Some of these vendors on Amazon are selling your book for $200 USD!!!
I was SHOCKED to see that!!

I intend to purchase a copy but will do so directly from your site to insure that the proper royalties are dispursed to you. As a fellow published artist I can appreciate all of the hard work that goes into producing a finished, published work.

I hear nothing but great things about your book and look forward to reading it.

Yeh, I know. It's not me. Amazon doesn't control what third party vendors sell books for. But, if you do a Google Search on "kiltmaking", my web site (Celtic Dragon Press) comes up first, where you can buy the book for the normal $34.95. I figure if someone can't manage a simple Google search to see if the book is still in print, they deserve to pay some shyster $200 on Amazon!!!

Finally ordered one just now. I have no interest in making my own kilt, but so many folks have commented on how much other good information there is here Barb, that I need one for myself too!

    Thanks!

And I didn't go to Amazon!

Father Bill, Barb's book is definitely worth having even if you don't plan on making a kilt. But be careful, I never intended to make kilt when I ordered her book. Now I have ordered tartan to make a second!

I picked up my copy last year at the Scottish Tartans Museum, not to build my own kilt (I would succeed only in sewing my own fingers together - yes, I'm just that talented with a needle and thread), but to gain an understanding of how a well made kilt is constructed. Finding the other information present in the book (such as how to properly baste-stitch and press) was a bonus.

Amazon's had the book priced up in that range for many years...no clue why...a glitch or stupidity. Bought mine direct from Celtic Dragon too. We should go on Amazon and do reviews!!

Good idea. I just did it! (Now we see if Amazon lets it stand.)

I bought mine from one of the advertisers here, The Celtic Croft. I started my first kilt but life got in the way and it is sitting in the closet with about three pleats. I need to work it back into the schedule.

When you see it at an exorbitant price on Amazon, it's not Amazon that's pricing it. It's a 3rd party bookseller. Even though the second printing is essentially the same as the first printing, the first printing is technically "out of print", so I guess people think they can ask more for an out-of-print book. The 2nd printing is actually better, because it has a few glitches fixed that I missed for the first printing. So, not only can you get the 2nd printing cheaper from me, it's actually a better book!

    But reviews would be wonderful!

    E-mail from Amazon:

Bill White, a customer just told us your review was helpful to them while shopping on Amazon.
