Improvised sporran
Here is my first DIY accessory. I found this odd-shaped leather purse at a flea market. The original flap covered the entire front of the purse, so I tried to reshape it but sort of messed it up so I ended up cutting a new one from another piece of leather and replaced the original one, hence the slight difference in color. Then I attached a magnetic fastener to the inside of the flap. I found the tassels and chain at a crafts store and designed the dangly bits, using pictures I found online as a reference. DSC01098.jpgI realize it's slightly on the crude side, but I'm hoping it will pass for casual wear. I eventually want to find some kind of design to adorn the front of the flap, like my family crest maybe.

The small chains give it an interesting look which I prefer to the leather that's usually there. I like it.

Good re-purposing and improvisation I say! I like the outcome.
