    Happily Re-employed.

    A bit late but...

Back in Sept. 2010, I was one of the last one's to leave the plant that I was working at. Dana Torque & Traction, Orangeburg, SC was a plant that I had the privilege of starting up from dirty floors and no equipment to four fully automated machining cells (20 CNC's) and two assembly lines. We built front and rear axles for the BMW X-3 and X-5 vehicles that were built in the U.S from 2003 through 2010. Economics forced the German Government to tell BMW to rehire the 200+ German workers that were displaced when we started production. We completely shutdown the plant and shipped out all equipment that we had installed. Emotionally, it hurt.

In 2011, I found out that I was eligible for tuition and books for college, so I completed my studies in electronics instrumentation and received my Associates Degree in Applied Sciences this May. Each semester was either Deans or Presidents Honors list.

This July, on my birthday, I was notified that I was being offered a job with Continental Tires, North America in Sumter, SC. I have been working there since mid August. Being that this is another start-up, there is plenty to learn about the equipment. For those that thought about me during the last few years, thank you for all of the positive thoughts.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.
