What Happens When You Go On a 600 Mile Road Trip Kilted And Forget A Sporran!
Well, at first its no problem if you're driving wearing a Utilikilt.

This pic is at Sunset Point rest area above Black Canyon. Background is Horsethief Basin. I love this sign - one of my favorite "Welcome to Arizona" signs.
Next day getting dressed to go see an old friend having a 70th Birthday then on to a gay wedding reception realized I had no Sporran!
No place to buy one in Phoenix on a Sunday....did have a pair of swim shorts with deep front pockets. Borrowed some safety pins to shorten the legs and wore it under my kilt to hold wallet, keys, etc. And, went without the sporran.
No one said a thing! It worked.

Here's my 70 year old friend - known each other since 1978.

And here's the newlywed couple flanked by myself and my lady friend. Reception was Maui themed since they were vacationing in Maui when Hawaii changed their laws to allow their marriage the got hitched there, then had a big party to celebrate when they got home.
Lots of people at the reception, usual kilt comments, but not one comment on not wearing a sporran. So, the improvised swimsuit pockets worked.
Memory gets worse every day....

I think I have a pic next to that very sign Ron!
I used to prowl about that Area often. Any pics from crown king? I loved the chili at the saloon I. Town, and a nice glass of iced tea after a long day four wheeling really hit the spot!

Terrific pictures! You would never miss the sporran.
I think I've played the golf course in the background of the reception picture.
