My kilt lost the game.
My wife and I, when we are bored, tend to do some things that seem strange to others. One of those things is that we will start little arguments over completely inane things, or things that we have already come to a decision over. It is more or less just a matter of verbal dueling. We stop when one or the other of us is left speechless or laughs. It's all done in good fun and is never over something that will result in hurt feelings. Well, in the course of our last bout I started into the male chauvinist bit. (I can't stand them and neither can she.) Anyhow, I usually say something like "Now, go in the kitchen and make me a sandwich!", or some similar thing. However this last time I said "Who wears the pants in this family?" My dear wife, without missing a beat, looks at the leg of her jeans and then points to my kilt and says "I assume you mean metaphorically." I laughed. I couldn't help it. So I have therefore established the rule that I shall never wear the kilt when playing the male chauvinist card.
Keep your rings charged, pleats in the back, and stay geeky!

Um, I disagree sir.
I would have worded the question just a bit differently though.
In my family we already know who wears the pants. I ask who in this family, anatomically, needs to wear the kilt.

Great story, Sir Didymous! Your wife sounds a lot like mine, sharp of wit and having little patience for chauvinism in any form.

Key phrase here.
