I just finished my first kilt! To avoid all this stripes, I started with a black canvas. Because of the changes between centimeter and inch I made a little mistake: I used the complet 10 meters for the kilt because I forgot to cut it before counting and calculating. So I made a 10 yard kilt instead of a 8 yard one … why not :-D At the end I decided to add a little colour: I had some orange cloth left wich I used to double the fringe with. I made a Exel sheet to help me calculating the pleats This is how i had to work. Terrible circumstances, aren't they? THE fringe Outside Inside (longer lining under the underapron for hygienically reasons) That's it! It fit's - after I moved the buckles a bit. The straps didn't have holes where I needed them. As you see, I made the flashes from orange linnen, too!

Good job my friend. Thanks for the photos of the progress. It looks like a comfortable fit and stylish as well.
Good job, looks great as first kilt. My first kilt wasn't even near this.
