Working at last
As many may remember, I was laid off after almost 15 years with the previous employer nearly 4 years ago. Since then I have volunteered with the local humane society, and went back to school to become a veterinary assistant (aka veterinary nurse). Completed my formal studies a year ago. In the meantime, helped the humane society initiate a "meals on wheels" program for the pets of humans receiving home meal delivery.
Well, almost three weeks ago, a local veterinary hospital decided I was the candidate they wanted to fill an opening in their practice. Since then I've been working ten-plus hour shifts, four days each week. This hasn't left much time to spend on the internet or to be kilted outside of my residence. Heck I have not had much time for anything other than work and the meals delivery program right now. I'll check in when I can. But I still have a lot of reading to do for work.

If your gain is our temporary loss, I can live with that. Glad you've had a silver lining in a long time tempest.

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Congratulations! I understand what it is like to be unemployed after years of working. Keep keeping on! And as already mentioned, if you like what you do, then it is not really like working at all. Congratulations again.
