A birth announcement
Dear Rabble,
Bonnie and I would like to announce the birth of our daughter, Kalili Océanne, on November 7, 2015 at 15:01. She was born healthy, by Caesarian section, at 3.58kg (7lb 14oz) at Victoria General Hospital. Mum and babe are both doing well and are expected home from the hospital early next week. She is our first child, and whenever I look at her in amazement and awe, it makes me wish we had had her years ago.
We chose Kalili, a Hawaiian name that refers to a rare species of violet (Viola kauaensis), because our baby's lips reminded us of the petals of this rare flower. We also chose Océanne because of our close connection with the ocean over the years.
To celebrate, I've gotten my hands on a wonderful bottle of Dalwhinnie 1997 Distiller's Edition that I'm looking forward to enjoying in the very near future!

Congratulations on the birth of such a bonnie wee lassie! Enjoy every moment with her for they are too fleeting. As well you'll want to pack away the dollars in the Registered Education Savings Plan.
