Utilikilt New Styling
I stopped into the Utilikilt store this weekend and found that they have started to stock their updated style of the Workman Utilikilt. A friend of mine purchased a tan and brown two tone, (that's him in the blue shirt)
.
Along with the two tone look Utilikilt has added Velcro and lacing at the back to allow you adjust the waist without changing the look of the apron on the front.

I was going to get one in a black and brown two tone but they don't have the longer sizes in stock yet. I had to wear it a lower on my hips than I like for the picture so I chose to wait until they have my size in stock. It was a temptation to have the latest style to wear to the festival at the Seattle Center yesterday but I was good and resisted.

The pictures didn't come through, but I'm curious about the style you're describing.

Uploaded as thumbnails.
Previous post edited, hopefully the pictures show up now. If not I may need some additional guidance.

I saw an announcement somewhere about their new adjustable waist design and I've been really curious about how it was going to work. This is something I never would have thought of, and I have to admit I think it's pretty cool. I bet those things are super complicated to sew too.

Part of me wants to take one apart just to see how they put it all together. I ordered one yesterday, black/brown. Don't think it will be done in time for the Highland Games in Seattle, maybe next year. Of course by then I may have bought several more kilts too.

I got the email from UK regarding the new style. I kind of like the lace-up back for flexibility in sizing but really didn't care for the two-tone look.

Some of the color combinations are not my style, but the black and chocolate brown have just enough variation that I like them. It's my understanding that they will be doing solid colors along with the two tone. Looking forward to seeing the other styles beyond the workman with the new switchback added to them.

More range in waist size is good. Not much on the two tone look even though I've owned a three tone kilt myself. Maybe its the colors.
Probably a fortune waiting for them if they offered the two tone kilts in the colors of athletic teams as Pittsburgh Kilts once did.

I prefer the cleaner looking original designs. Laces or rivets on the back catch and wear on seats and, from my Navy dress blues, the laces get untied from the rubbing.

Pants is only a present tense verb here. I once panted, but it's all cool now.

I find them overpriced myself, there are cheaper options on ebay that are quite good for a fraction of the price.
