Kilted Hike
I didn't take photos. I intended to.
My lady and I went for a hike yesterday in a large nature preserve near Chicago, Illinois, United States. I wore my 5-yard kilt, brown day sporran, mustard hose, red flashes, brown pullover sweater, and brown canvas wide-brimmed hat: my standard hiking gear, but with a kilt. I wore sensible trekking shoes, which was a good move, as it turns out.
I intended to take us on the 1 kilometer paved path as neither of us is an avid hiker and my lady has an ankle that tends to tire easily because of an old injury that never quite healed right. I took a wrong turn.
I ended up taking us on a 12 kilometer path over mixed paved and unpaved terrain. What should have been a pleasant morning walk turned into a 4 hour march for which neither of us was properly prepared.
But it was still a nice kilted walk, in a sense.
