Kilted in Carolina
I've been lurking about for a bit and figured it was time to say hello, so hello! I've been wearing a kilt for about 5 or 6 years. I currently own the clan tartan and a black Utilikilt. I'm a convener for my clan and while I feel obligated to "show the colors" I often opt for the Utilikilt as most games in our state range from "hot" to "extremely hot."
I had to search pretty far back in my tree to find Scottish ancestry but I do have some. I have more Irish, Welsh and English ancestry but it is the Scottish side which allows the wearing of a traditional garment and events like Highland Games to honor heritage so I have gravitated to that side. I'm very much interested in history and genealogy and I get ample opportunities to discuss these things with the many people who come to our tent, hungry for any information on where they came from.
I've enjoyed what I've read here so far and hope to contribute if there's anything I can add.

Macsim, welcome to the board... finally!;)
I'm almost pure Irish, so the kilt ain't no problem on me! I have about as much Scottish as my pinky toe can hold.
The Carolinas are WELL represented here, so you should fit right in!

I am likely to be moving BACK to the Durham, NC area sometime around Christmas. Kilt nights in the Carolinas are going to be taken up a notch.

Macsim,
WELCOME! A great bunch of people here, some even from either one of the Carolinas, so you are already fitting in.

Macism,
Welcome!
Always good to have another Carolinian on the forum.
What games do you usually go to?
There is a good chance we have crossed
paths as I attend quite a few myself.
