I've got the Nightstalker 2006 Standard, and I love it. With the sewn down pleats it has a more tailored look. Hangs evenly and the pleats have a nice swoosh. Double fringe on the apron, lined inside, and silver buckles. Reminds me very much of my SWK Black Heavyweight, but a little lighter weight.

I plan to buy a couple more SWK 2006 Standards, as well as another heavyweight when the new ones come out.

I'm 6'0", and the 24 inch length hits me right a mid-knee. I think Stillwater is one of the best values you can get for a kilt that is not specifically tailored to your measurements. I wouldn't hesitate to wear my 2006 Nightstalker Standard anywhere.

Is that the 2005 standard model? I was told the 2006 Irish National would not be available until January.

Sewn down pleats... I just got mine today and the pleats were not sewn down. I checked back on the ebay listing now and it does say sewn down pleats.

Problem is that I already took out the basting stitches since the waistband fit and I wanted to see how it lays without the basting. That is when I noticed the wandering pleats.

Just to clairify the sewn down pleats is stitching keeping the pleats in place for around 7 inches from the top of the waistband, right?

edit: Now that I really look at it it is very similar to my other stillwater standard. Same buckles, lining the same length and the slightly odd creases near the first pleat are back.

It has a single fringe where my other one has double. Unlike the old one it is pleated to the stripe instead of the sett (well, almost to the sett).

So... did I get the wrong one?

Even with no one confirming that this wasn't the 06 I e-mailed Jerry. Though I e-mailed him without checking my mail first and in the couple of hours tween the first post and sending mail he had sent me his own mail saying that the order said "36" gordon tartan kilt" so they stuck one in and moved on to the next order. He will be sending the new one tomorrow and I will be sending the got I have back also.

Again with that good customer service that keeps customers coming back.

I will be reviewing the 06 in a few days.

(good customer service in regards to how quickly he is taking care of the mixup = not sarcastic)

my 2006 hunting macleod standard showed up today and it is a thing of beauty. i love the sewn down pleats. makes it look really sharp. the pleats are to sett and they are spot on. the fabric is very nice. much nicer than i thought acrylic would be.

is it as nice as my macmillan tank? no, but it also didn't cost $600. all and all i'd say that aside from the material (which is still quite nice) the workmanship is pretty close. i really can't say enough good things about it or jerry. i'm very impressed and pleased.

now when are those new heavy weights comming out? i'm expecting xmas money and i got the fever...
