Altering a Buzz Kidder Sporran
I recnetly bought a Buzz Kidder brown sporran to go with my brown/brass kilt belt. The sporran straps I have are put together with grass harddware. I'm hoping to get a brass pennanular pin from Nick here at X Makrs for a kilt pin.
The problem? The hardware on the Buzz Kidder Sporran is pewter! Both the rivets and the little medallion are in pewter. I want it in a yellow-colored metal!
Dangit.
Anybody got any bright ideas, pics or links?

It seems the dilema is that you have to be able to do this with the hardware in place. I found this article though while searching for "Anodizing Pewter"
I think Jerry at stillwater mentioned a chemical you could soak metal in that would tarnish it the black color of some of his cantels and chain. Anyone else remember that thread?
Also, While working in the Aluminum business we used a touch-up liquid to cover scratches on our dark aluminum extrusions. I don't recall what it was but you just paint it on a scartch and id oxidizes the raw(silver) aluminum to blend with the anodized color.
I know these don't answer the question but hopefully will give some direction to start
