    Welcome aboard! If you have any questions, you can get all kinds of advice here. Maybe even some you didn't want.

    What kind of price range are you looking for? Do you want to go tartan? If so, what tartan are you looking at (another big decision)?

    Personally, I would recommend you go for the full 8-yard traditional kilt in 16 oz. worsted wool in an appropriate tartan. But, that's just me.

    Welcome from western North Carolina! If you really want to start out cheap for a trial there's always eBay! I got my first kilt there, and, while it's not a great kilt, it's perfect for sitting around the house or walking the dog…

    Welcome from another Virginian. If money is a problem, I'd go with Rocky at USA Kilts and his philibeg model, or if you are close to 6' tall, Stillwater's standards are nice Kilts. I'm just shy of 5'10" and the 23" length Stillwaters fit me fine, I just have to wear them high on my waist.
