Hi - I just noticed that there's going to be an "I Love NY BrewFest" in NYC on Sept 8th. One of the musical groups scheduled to perform is "The Bag Pipe Dudes"...so pipes+brew led me to "kilt night." I'm thinking of reaching out to the sponsor -- Heartland Brewery -- to see if they'd have an interest in promoting it as a Kilt Night event but figured I should have a good explanation of "kilt night" first. Who can lend a hand?
kilt night = any occasion ( not just at night) where more than one person in a kilt is present. Everything else is a bonus. I can say that when you mention "kilts", generally there is a larger crowd, as some people just want to see who will show up in a kilt.
The fun thing about a Kilt night, is that it doesn't have to be marketed as a kilt night. Just have a bunch of you show up in kilts and it's a kilt night.
Kilt night conversation: Hey A Dhuglas, I'm going to be in your neck of the woods on the upteenth of next week, how about we get together with the rest of the kilties one night? OR as happens in Chicago: KCW, it's time for a beer after work this Friday. Instant kilt nights and all for a good reason....we're thirsty

I'm outside of NYC but can get in easy enough if that's where you're headed. Drop some details when your plans firm up.
