Just ordered my first kilt......
As the title says ..... super excited!!! I ordered a 'full' length 16 oz in MacTavish (1439) Modern. Only got three months to wait!!!
Ordered from a e-retailer back home (Scotland) that's a friend of my aunt, she's been really helpful so far.
Sorry, needed to get that off my chest.
My name's Andrew Thomson, I currently live in Japan but I am originally from Edinburgh, Scotland.

Andrew. Hajime-mashte, dozo yoroshku..... and welcome to X Marks from West Sussex!
Honto ni sumi-masen - nihongo wa hanase-masen..... so I'll continue in English!!
When you tell us that you have "....ordered a "full length" 16oz..." I hope you mean an 8 yarder, not floor length!! Three months, eh? Well it does seem a long wait but, at least, you should have it in time to help celebrate St. Andrew's Day.
Mo ikanakereba nari-masen.
ki o tskete!
Ham.

Is this a full length kilt?

Welcome to the asylum, Andrew.
Regards from Ohio,
Rex in Cincinnati
At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

Hamish, your Japanese is far better than mine!!!!! I may be a decent (matter of opinion ) instructor but am a terrible and lazy student! However:
Hajime mashite, Andy desu. Dozo yoroshiku!!!!
Full length as in 9 yards - I seem to have a big bum to go with big rest of me! The tartan needs woven hence the hold up (suppodedly 8 weeks for that alone) maybe there is some Scotty Syndrome over estimation going on there but I guess I can wait ...... it'll give me time to decide on the rest of my gear (sporran, belt etc) as well.
Came to this site through Freelander Sporrans, which I am considering buying but I may get a "dressier" one for my first one though and pick up a Freelander next year .... so many decisions!!! I thought the nightmare I had picking a tartan was bad enough!
Rex, I'm tall (around 6'4") but that kilt may just be a little too long.
Thanks for the welcome.
