Found this link at FARK. Interesting. BOSSES at the new Scottish Natural Heritage HQ are facing a £5000 bill every time they cut the grass - on their roof.
What? Maybe I'm just tired, but I don't get it.
It seems they have a garden/grass roof, and due to safety regulations must add extra expenses each time the roof is trimmed.
I hear Scotland is home to many hungry sheep.
Leave it up to government to make something simple, very difficult and expensive. Trust me I know how government can do this(SC Dept. of Education - Transportation - Spartanburg School Bus Shop Foreman[my employment]). It has never made sense to me. Oh well. _____________ Brett Nix
Sounds like it wasn't well designed. They shouldn't have to maintain it, just let it grow. For tickles and grins, I looked here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_roof and here - http://www.cordwoodmasonry.com/Cordwoodphotos5a.html Dale
