My first DIY kilt
This is my first self made kilt. I like the looks of corduroy but found that it required splicing two pieces to have suffiicient material for the kilt. I spent about 30+ hours pondering, calculating pleats and wondering how to do this. Then I finally started and 8 hours later, through two days, it was done. I used three different kilt making instructions, blending them but my next will be with much larger 1st and last pleats.
Have several pics but now find I cannot post them. Well , anyway, I have my first DIY kilt and my wife says it looks very nice.

I thought about doing one in corduroy.
I actually found a corduroy material at a huge fabric store in Manchester, NH that was also a generic tartan. I couldn't afford to buy any at the time, but I'm thinking of going back for some next pay day!
Oh... and... figure out the pics!

Herewith some pics of the corduroy kilt
Here are a few pics of the kilt. I took the pictures myself with a delay on the camera so they may not be the best.

Now I have ordered some tartan type material (Wool/Poly) from Canada to experiment on a semi-traditional kilt, and I plan to make another corduroy since I understand the problems, and also a poly/cotton or two for wearing around.
