The STRATHSPEY FIDDLERS is one of the most sought after groups in Scotland. They were formed many years ago under the guidance and expertise of Donal Barr. They are a group of performers from a rural area straddling the Aberdeenshire/Banffshire border in the North of Scotland. Although the majority are fiddlers, they also play other instruments such as bag pipes, drums and whistles, while others perform traditional Highland Dancing. Their vocalists sing in Gaelic and the local Scots dialect. The group is well known at Celtic festivals, has toured Bavaria, worked with BBC Scotland and perform regularly to worldwide guests at the local Chivas Regal Distillery. The whiskey connection also saw them playing to audiences in London and Frankfurt early in 2003.
