My sister managed to get hold of an old 3rd Auckland Regiment (New Zealand) cap badge from probably the 1950's. I was originally in this in 1964/5 before they were downsized and amalgamated into the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment. Took a slice of elk antler and polished it up, fitted two rare earth magnets on to the back and epoxied the badge to the front. Here's the result: Brian

That's really nice looking. How were you able to date the pin back to 1050's though. That seems quite a bit old, and if that's true congrats on the find.
