This splendid old Warbird, a Consolidated Catalina Flying Boat, more usually to be found at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, is on a three day visit to Carlisle this weekend. She suffered an oil seal failure en route and landed on one engine, with the starboard prop feathered. Here an airport fire crew provide water to wash off the oil slick. A closer view of the Catalina. Nicely cleaned up again. The engineer was working on her this afternoon and hopefully she will be fit to fly home to the Imperial War Museum at the end of her visit.

Just beautiful - that's one of my all time favorites - thanks for the photos!
