Sir MacHinery, by Tom McGowen
Gents, ladies, lads, lassies, the rabble in general:
Has anyone else ever read "Sir MacHinery" by Tom McGowen? Growing up I simply loved this book, which is now (SADLY!) out of print. Recently I tracked down a copy, and am reading it to my daughters (7 and 3---ok, the 3 year old mostly just plays with toys while I read it).
Merlin, William Wallace, SgtMaj. Small, Constable Weir, and Angus the brownie---to say nothing o' Sir MacHinery himself (a robot, of course).
Good stuff indeed. I was almost afraid to reread it, fearing that it wouldn't hold up, but it has, it has!
