Last week I had a neat opportunity to help others in my community. The company I work for has an annual event to donate school supplies to needy kids, teachers & schools in the Phoenix area. This year our local offices collected over 200,000 school supply items, which was way more than was needed at the 2 schools we had selected to help, so the excess was distributed through other agencies. I got to help distribute backpacks filled (& they were really full) with all kinds of school stuff to about 60 kids at a local Boys & Girls Club. And since, as usual, I was in a kilt, this was probably the first time these boys & girls (& a few parents) had seen a man, in person, in a kilt. It was kinda like being Santa's Helper in August. It was a very happy occasion all around.
I thought I'd share a phew photos with you...
