Diced hose, where to find?
Where can a fellow find diced hose or tops for a reasonable price? J. Higgins's website says $45 but I emailed them and they say $75.
Thanks
Kevin
Cheers

I'd also like to know where I can get some that your local Poor, Starving Liberal Arts Student could afford. You know, those diced golf socks are beginning to look pretty good…

Their quality isn't the best by far.

diced hose...
$75 is actually fairly reasonable, but as gilmore states, the quality of Higgins hose is somewhat suspect.
Try The Tartan Thistle in Washington State:

My argyll/tartan hose are from there, and I am very satisfied with their product.

I have a pair of red and white diced hose tops that I'll sell at a reasonable price. They are older, and made for a smaller calf. I bought them on Ebay years ago and just never wore them. Someone PM me if interested.

Several months ago I went in search of good prices for diced hose. I wanted to dress up my evening attire.
I was not successful! The problem in my case is the 19 inch calf on each leg!
The problem also appears to be that they can not make enough quantity to bring the price down. So it remains a "specialty" item.
If your legs do not have thunder calves, you might try the argyle hose sold for wear with plus fours for golfers. If your calves are too large (like mine) the argyle hose will be stretched out of shape and not look good.
Be that as it may, here are a couple of web-sites for argyle hose.

Did you try the Tartan Thistle? Their prices are quite reasonable.
For me, I'd rather pay a bit more and get a quality item that will last -- that was my Scottish grandmother's definition of being frugal.

I guess for what you are getting, they are reasonable. I just have a problem spending that kind of money on a pair of sox!
For the moment, I will stick with my solid colors. I have been told that T-Barry makes runs in Hagrid sizes about once a year, but I have not yet checked them out any further.
I think the cheapest cost will eventually come from the golfers.

Ah, well...different horses for courses and all that.
They are worth every penny, though...
