Just finished sewing my first X-Kilt. Decided that since this was a first, I would use cheap, discontinued WalMart fabric at $1 per yard. The material looks good, and hold a good pleat, but is basically bed-sheet material, so is very light. That just means I will wear it around the house, or use it in the summer outside in the yard. Somehow, I read my writing incorrectly, so originally put in only 10 pleats. My plan was 13 (I discovered this during the taper phase). So I ripped out seams on the last taper and added 3 more pleats. As I looked, still needed one more. Put the tapers in, added the finishing touches, and viola! My wife was actually impressed with (1) that I did it myself, and (2) it looks like a kilt

Now, I admit that I am not the best seamstress, so next time I will try with a fabric that doesn't show any sewing errors as much - maybe a nice camo. I will probably do the pockets in the design for that as well.

Anyway, here it is:
