While honeymooning in Scotland in 2001 we spent a week in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival. On a couple of occasions we saw a shaggy haired, bearded group of musicians (pipers and drummers) dressed (as I recall) in great kilts and possibly animal skins - maybe 8 or more of them. The raw energy of their performance was incredible. I half expected the crowd to don kilts and sword and march down to London! I've tried to figure out who they were but have failed. Any ideas?
Proto-Albannach, perhaps?
Convener, Georgia Chapter, House of Gordon (Boss H.O.G.) Where 4 Scotsmen gather there'll usually be a fifth. 7/5 of the world's population have a difficult time with fractions.
Thanks Turpin! I googled "Proto-Albannach" and didn't find anything. There are some videos of "Albannach" on YouTube but I can't see them because my internet is so slow right now. However, I also saw a reference to a video of "Clanadonia" submitted by the same YouTube user and I'm fairly certain that's the group I saw! Have you ever heard of them?
I particularly remember this dude.
It wasn't this lot was it?
In 2001, they were using the name Clann an Drumma. Slainte yall, steve

Rob, The feller pictured in post #4 was with Clann an Drumma at the time. His name is Tu-Bardh Wilson. His photo is on the inside cover of their CD Tried and True. I bought this CD in 2002. I believe he's currently with Clanadonia, which may've been previously Albannach. Slainte yall, steve
