The Hunt For Weathered Fletcher
I have a strong Fletcher line. Billy Fletcher crossed the Bozeman Trail to Virginia City Montana in 1864 after his wife died in Nebraska. Then he went back to Cuba, N.Y. in 1865 and crossed the Bozeman Trail again in 1866 with his second wife. Would like to honor that blood clan.
But, I just haven't "liked" the Fletcher and Ancient Fletcher tartans much. Then I discovered the Weathered Fletcher tartan...only I don't recall where and haven't been able to relocate the source. There's no info in the properties section. Googling has been fruitless.

Thought maybe someone might recognize the presentation of the clan crest over the tartan and have an idea as to which vendor the pic came from.
Thanks for any help.

Might not be commercially woven in that color scheme. One could special order it woven weathered.

Lochcarron lists a Fletcher of Dunans Ancient. Not weathered but if may suit you.
PS removed
edit: I will see if there is any weathered.

Thanks, its the weathered I'm looking for. Kicking myself on two fronts - first that I didn't keep track of where I found this swatch on line. Seems if some one was advertising it they had a source for it. Second, that I just don't much like the look of one of my clan's tartans.
I do like the weathered Fletcher. So I'm hopeful, that with help, I'll be able to relocate it.
Thanks,
Ron

It may possibly be a custom woven tartan, Ron. I'm sure you've already considered that though...

The tartan in the pic you posted doesn't look like it's in weathered colors to me. It looks like it might be in ancient colors, or more likely a very faded modern. Are you sure it's a real swatch, and not just a computer-generated image? That type of fading effect is quite easy to duplicate on a computer. All you have to do is adjust the brightness.

I wish I had a clue. I found the pic with the caption weathered Fletcher somewhere...that's lost in the ozone. Thinking maybe on a clan Fletcher website, gotta go check. And of course no way to have it woven up without the thread count.
A real tease this one.

Wouldn't the thread count be the same as a modern or ancient Fletcher? Just different colors?

Aye, but what shade/hue etc...want it to look good like the sorta swatch...and not sure which of the Fletcher tartans this is from the small swatch...no clue why this is soooo elusive...coyote's all over me here.
Thanks for all the help.

That Fletcher tartan, from comparison, is Flether of Dunans. ITI #272.
And, as stated, the thread count will be the same, regardless of the "hue."
And doesn't DC Daglish sort of specialize in "reproduction" (aka weathered) tartans? And of course DCD is the mill that produces custom weaves in single kilt lengths...
