Help Me Name My New Dog!

Okay, so I initially adopted a GSD mix, but after taking him in to the shelter for his follow-up vet visit, myself and the shelter decided the best thing for him would be to stay at the shelter and either be adopted or fostered by a veterinarian, because of his health issues (non-fatal, but complicated. They're a no-kill shelter, so I know he'll end up in a good home that can cater to his special needs.) Anyway, long story short, I ended up adopting this beautiful, calm little 4-year-old, 35-pound Aussie cattle dog/Aussie shepherd mix. She's such a sweetheart and SO laid-back and not hyper at all (which is very atypical of Aussies!) She likes her walks, but she LOVES just sitting on the couch next to me and watching TV! She follows me everywhere, but she does just fine on her own when I leave my apartment (although I did discover that she will devour a whole bag of treats if I leave them within reach and I'm not looking!) She's got great manners, already house-trained, and doesn't bark at all. She was relinquished by her former owners just because they "didn't want her anymore." If they were telling the truth, that really disgusts me because she's pretty much the perfect dog (well, aside from wanting to chase my cat, but we're working on that!) I can't understand why anyone would want to give up a dog like her!

Anyway, the shelter named her Stella, which I'm not fond of (she was transferred from another shelter, and the shelter I adopted her from didn't know her real name.) She doesn't respond to it anyway, so I can pretty much choose whatever name I want. So I've been thinking of some Scottish or Gaelic names for her. I've found a few that I really like, but I can't decide on just one, so I need your help choosing one! Here's the list (in order of my favorites first):

    1. Siobhan (sha-VON.)
    2. Mairead (MAH-raid)
    3. Iseabail (Isobel)
    4. Mackenzie (or Kenna)
    5. Effie

So we'll do this as a poll! Help me name this beautiful little girl!

Okay, so what tranquilizers is the dog on? If my Aussie mix was any more hyper, she'd go into orbit. As for names, I like Mackenzie, and Kenna for short. Short one or two syllable names are best for dogs.

    Kenna gets my vote.

And she is not chasing the cat, she is just trying to herd it.

As a MacKenzie I am honored that you would consider the name, but I am also confused as to why a name meaining "son of Kenneth (or the Gaelic varient thereof) has become such a popular girls' name. I'm voting for Soivan

My vote goes to Kenna as well. Congrats on the new addition to the family.
